Portuguese newspaper Record claim that
Victor Lindelof is set to leave Benfica to move to Manchester United, and that
could be good news for Everton.
United have reportedly sealed a £30 million move for Lindelof,
with the Swede set to sign up at Old Trafford soon.
And Lindelof’s arrival at United, means that Jose Mourinho’s
side are surely unlikely to pursue Burnley’s Michael Keane.
United were in the market
for one centre-back this summer, but bringing in two expensive defenders seems
unlikely.
And that could play into Everton’s hands, as they battle for the
Burnley defender.
Keane was thought to have
his heart set on a move to United (Daily Mail), but with
the move off the table, he will be forced to consider other options.
And it may be that a move to Ronald Koeman’s Everton side
becomes an attractive possibility for the England international, who is thought
to be available for £24 million
