Everton boss Ronald Koeman has put Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen
at the top of his wanted list and is ready to bid £20million.
Koeman is looking to bolster the heart of his
midfield as doubts continue to surround the future of Ross Barkley, and he has
already been heavily linked with a move for Swansea star Gylfi Sigurdsson.
However it would now appear that fellow Dutchman Klaassen has emerged as a top target following an impressive season that resulted in Ajax making the Europa League final before losing to Manchester United.
Koeman has already sung the praises of Klaassen and believes he has all the attributes to make it in the Premier League.
“It is difficult for a lot of technical and skilful players because the demands in England are so big,” Koeman revealed. "But Davy Klaassen has made very big steps.”
United are also reported to be in the hunt but Koeman hopes to pip them to his signature by wrapping up a deal in the next 10 days.
