Narendra Modi in US: Donald Trump will host PM Modi for a “working dinner”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently addressing Indian diaspora at a
community reception in Ritz Carlton in Washington DC. During his speech, Modi
said he sees immense energy and potential in the Indian community that is based
in USA. “I can see that every Indian wants to contribute towards India’s
development. India is progressing at a record pace today,” Modi said. Prior to
this, the Prime Minister held a round table conference with top US business
leaders at the Willard Hotel in Washington. He had asked CEOs of top US
companies to invest in the country, insisting that the country has now emerged
as a business-friendly destination, which will expand following the
implementation of landmark GST beginning next month.
The prime minister
will also meet Donald Trump for his first bilateral meeting with the US
President shortly. Trump will host PM Modi for a “working dinner” which is
the first for a foreign leader at the White House in his five-month term. Modi,
who is on a three-nation tour, will visit Netherlands after concluding his US
visit.

interaction with a group of top 20 CEOs of American firms, PM Modi highlighted
that India has attracted largest foreign direct investment due to the NDA
government policies in the last three years.
