The Arsenal defender
is wanted by the Camp Nou outfit this
summer
The
Arsenal right-back has been heavily linked with a return to Barcelona during
the past few moths, with the Spanish giants having identified the 22-year-old
as their priority target this summer.
Arsene
Wenger has always insisted the defender is not for sale, but that has not
stopped Barcelona using all their usual tricks to try and unsettle the
defender.
Bellerin has stated previously that it is flattering to be linked
with a switch to the Camp Nou and speculation over a transfer grew after
it was revealed his family had left England to return to Spain.
“I have
always been very happy in London,” said Bellerin. “My family settled over there
with me, though now for family reasons they have returned to Barcelona.
“Now I
have a harder time, because I am a very family-orientated person. I depend a
lot on them, and it will be a challenge being apart from them.”

Those comments fanned the flames of the speculation surrounding
Bellerin’s future, although he did then respond on social
media by
telling his followers ‘don’t believe everything you read’.
But in a further twist in the
ongoing saga, reports in Spain now suggest that Arsenal’s majority shareholder
has taken the unusual step of getting directly involved in the situation.
Spanish
outlet Cadena Ser say
Kroenke spoke to Bellerin and informed him that he will not be leaving the
Emirates this summer.
At the time of penning his new
deal, Bellerin said: "I've been here a long time and feel like this is my
home. I am happy to be a Gunner for many more years.
"I wasn’t thinking about
anything else other than staying here and continuing my development here."
