Gabriel Jesus does not require surgery on his
face and will be ready to start his pre-season preparations at Manchester City.
The Brazil international forward
suffered an injured eye socket in last week's game with Argentina following an
aerial clash with his Etihad team-mate Nicolas Otamendi.
It was feared the exciting 20-year-old would need
to have a small bone reset, but his doctors have now stated the injury will
heal itself with rest.
The news will come as a major relief to both City
and Jesus, who scored seven goals in 11 appearances following his £27m arrival
from Palmeiras in January.
Pep Guardiola's squad start pre-season in just
over a fortnight's time and Jesus is one of a number of players given an extra
two weeks to recover following their summer international commitments.
City defender Eliaquim Mangala, meanwhile, has
continued living in Valencia after his loan stay and fresh talks are planned
