DEFENDER BID REJECTED

Chelsea face a battle to lure Alex Sandro away from Juventus this summer after the Italian champions knocked back their opening bid.
Blues boss Antonio Conte is keen to draft in a new left-back during the close season, and reports claim he is hoping to raid his former club to complete a deal for Sandro.

Sandro only joined Juve from Porto in the summer of 2015, but has gone on to establish himself in the side, scoring three goals and providing seven assists as they won the Serie A title and Coppa Italia.

Such form has alerted Conte, who has already launched a 50million euros bid for the 26-year-old, which was immediately rejected by the Bianconeri, who are holding out for more.

The Brazilian is under contract until 2020 but reports in the Italian press claim an offer of 60million euros will severely test the resolve of Juve, and could result in Sandro making the switch to Stamford Bridge.
