Bonucci, 30, has worked with
Conte both at Juve and with the Italian national team
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is set to reignite
a move for Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci as he seeks defensive
reinforcements.
Bonucci, 30,
has worked with Conte both at Juve and with the Italian
national team.
The
centre-back signed a new deal with his club only last December and insisted at
the time that he was keen to remain in Italy.
He said: "It is up to the club if they want to keep me or
send me away, but I hope to honour my contract."
Chelsea could
now use Juventus' interest in midfielder Nemanja Matic as part of a deal with
the Italian champions known to be big admirers of the Serbian.
Matic feared
for his place at Stamford Bridge last summer but managed to force his way into
Conte's plans. With a revamp now set to take place, however, Chelsea will
listen to offers.
