Jurgen Klopp needs depth in his
attacking department and Liveprool are currently linked with more than a few
playmakers. One of them is Real Madrid star James Rodriguez.
The
Colombian international mainly warmed the bench under Zidane and the French
boss did not even select him in his squad for the Champions League final
against Juventus. Therefore, it is highly likely that James will depart the
Bernabeu this summer.
According to a recent report
published by Don Balon, Liverpool
would be willing to pay 60 million euros to hire the services of the former
Monaco attacking midfielder.
The
Spanish source claimed that Rodriguez would prefer to join clubs like
Manchester United or Bayern but they are not ready to pay over 40 million euros
for him.
James
won the Golden Boot prize in the FIFA World Cup 2014 and has got the quality to
improve any team. Liverpool will largely benefit from his signing if he does
end up moving to Anfield.
Even without regular starts,
Rodriguez managed to score 11 goals and provide 13 assists for the Los Blancos last season. His
current deal with Real will expire in 2020 and he is earning
around £185,000-a-week (€210,000-a-week) (Star)
