REAL MADRID
superstar Cristiano Ronaldo cannot be stopped by Juventus if he is on form in
the Champions League final tonight (7.45pm)
Ronaldo's Real Madrid are looking to create history in Cardiff
by becoming the first side to win the competition in its current state
back-to-back.
The
Portuguese forward has scored eight goals so far in the knockout stages,
including hat-tricks in the quarter and semi-final wins over Bayern Munich and
Atletico Madrid.
Juventus are looking to win
their first Champions League since 1996, having lost their last four finals,
including against Barcelona two years ago.
Desailly,
who won the tournament twice with Marseille and AC Milan, believes Juve can
come away victorious if Ronaldo is not quite on top of his game for Real Madrid, and reckons
it is about time they overcame their hoodoo in finals.
"I do believe that it's
the time for Juventus to get something out of a European
competition," he said
"Two
years ago they were not that ready, we feel that after six leagues in a row
that they should be able to win this time.
"If they don't concede, they will probably
win but in front you have individual talent that potentially could make the difference
"If Ronaldo is on fire, nobody can stop him.
"But
if he's not, Juventus with the type of players that they have with (Paulo)
Dybala, (Gonzalo) Higuain, (Mario) Mandzukic, they can make the
difference."
