You've
heard a ton of music from Mija and you've seen her DJ at festivals around the world. It's kind of
hard to imagine that she hasn't released anything wholly original, without it
being a collaboration or a remix of something, but it's true.
Well, it's not true anymore. Today, she gives fans a jolt of
excitement in the form of four candy-colored works. Time
Stops is energetic,
fast-paced and full of video-game style bleeps and bloops. It's kind of like
she decided to soundtrack her own DDR experience, but
actually, she soundtracked a visual storyline in four parts.
You see, Time Stops is not just an EP;
it's the first taste of an audiovisual experience. It's a short film, told in
four parts, written by Mija, directed by Ryan Forever and animated by 8-Bit
Cinema's David Dutton. We don't know what it will look like, but we can
absolutely expect anime and video games. That's implied not only by the sound,
but by the black-and-white cartoon that accompanies the release, which you can
peep below.
