DAVENPORT ADDS ROBBIE HARMAN AS MEN'S BASKETBALL ASSISTANT COACH

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Head men's basketball coach Burt Paddock announces the hiring of Robbie Harman as an assistant coach for the 2017-2018 season. Harman we will be a part of a men's basketball staff that is the first ever to coach in the GLIAC and NCAA Division ll at DU.
Previous to joining Davenport Harman coached at Oklahoma City University's men's basketball program as an assistant coach. During his one year with the Stars he helped guide the team to a 21-11 record and a trip to the NAIA Division 1 National Tournament.
"We are incredibly fortunate to obtain coach Harman at this time" states coach Paddock. "This is an incredibly exciting, yet challenging, time as we move from the WHAC to the GLIAC and NCAA Division ll. Coach Harman has vast experience at a very young age both as a NCAA Divion l player and as a coach at the NCAA Division ll and NAIA level. These experiences will support and aid our student-athletes as they brace for the challenges that the GLIAC will provide".
Before coaching at Oklahoma City coach Harman served as an assistant at his alma mater, Central Michigan University. Harman served as an administrative coach and basketball operations intern, helping contribute to a Mid-American Conference regular-season championship.
"I am thrilled that I am back in Michigan and have the opportunity to be involved with Davenport athletics" states coach Harman. "Being part of a program that has been one of the best in NAIA Division ll over the last decade is very exciting. I look forward to dedicating myself to help continue the success as we move into the GLIAC and Division ll"
Harman played basketball professionally overseas in the Netherlands and garnered all-league honors. Prior to playing overseas he had a successful collegiate career playing both basketball and baseball for the Chippewas of Central Michigan. He led NCAA Division I and established the single-season program record with 105 3-pointers as a senior and set the program career mark with 233 3-pointers. Harman tallied 1,058 career points while picking up all-conference accolades for CMU.

"Nothing excites me more than being able to work with coach Paddock, the rest of the men's basketball staff and all of the staff/faculty here at Davenport" added coach Harman.
