Gemany vs Chile, Live Confederations Cup 2017 final: Catch live scores and updates of the Confederations Cup final between Chile and Germany here. It is the first time that the two sides have reached the finals in the tournament.

Both Chile and Germany have never won the Confederations Cup. As a matter of fact, this is the first time the two sides have reached the final of the tournament. The Confederations Cup is often a tournament that flies under the radar, understandably so, as it precedes one of the most followed sports events in the world (re: FIFA World Cup). Chile are continuing their form under Juan Antonio Pizzi to reach their third cup final in as many years while Germany’s young guns have surprised everyone by producing performances reminiscent of what their seniors did in the 2014 World Cup. Catch live scores and updates of the Confederations Cup final between Chile and Germany here.
Live Chile vs Germany score, 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup final:
0122 hrs IST: Valencia taken down right side of goal at the edge of the box, Alexis Sanchez takes the free kick. He takes the shot, it swerves towards goal from behind the wall and Ter Stegen makes a brilliant save. Surely that’s it
0116 hrs IST: Emre Can breaks forward but ends up foulinf Sanchez as he stumbled about the pitch. He then refuses to give the ball back and that leads to a scuffle involving a few substitutes and even Joachim Loew. Referee somehow clears the mess
0113 hrs IST: That is a contender for miss of the tournament. Puch puts it to the surprisingly free Sagal from the touchline and he had to only place it properly with Ter Stegen woefully unprepared for the shot. He botches it up completely and the ball soares above the crossbar
0111 hrs IST: Final 10 minutes of what has thus far been one of the most frantic international matches you will ever get to see
0109 hrs IST: Aranguiz shoots from distance, the shot is low and just wide. He then goes off for Puch.
0108 hrs IST: Change for Germany, Emre Can replaces Timo Werner
0103 hrs IST: Sanchez puts it to Beusajour before continuing his run, the ball is put into his path, he taps it to Vidal who puts his shot high and wide and clobbers the patch of grass he took his face out of
0100 hrs IST: Sanchez takes the ball into the box and suddenly Germany frantically try to block him, he puts it to Vargas who gets into a tangle with a team mate, the rebound comes to Sanchez whose shot is blocked
0053 hrs IST: Werner complains about getting clobbered in the face by Jara, the referee is not interested. Germany go for a review and the video replay shows that it was indeed an intentional elbow. Jara gets a yellow, he makes a sarcastic applause and the referee gives him another warning. The first half was fill of action on the ball, the second has had more action off it
0048 hrs IST: It’s getting feisty out there. Joshua Kimmich has a go at Claudio Bravo and substitutes and players get involved. Arturo Vidal gives Kimmich a full-blooded push in the middle of all that right in front of the referee but no cards distributed after the situatuon is defused. Vidal was sent off for something much less earlier in the year while playing for Bayern Munich against a certain Spanish side

0044 hrs IST: Germany break once again and Draxler takes the shot. It takes the slightest of deflections to go out for a corner. It has been more of the same in the second half, Chile dominating possession and Germany threatening to score every time they break
0041 hrs IST: Chile substitution: Marcelo Diaz taken off for Leonardo Valencia
0039 hrs IST: Vidal makes a run with the ball down the left and passes it to Vargas near the D. Vargas is unable to contain it and the attack fizzes out
0037 hrs IST: Germany get the second half rolling
0032 hrs IST: Chile have conceded just one goal before this match in the tournament so far. Quite hard to believe considering the way they have defended here
0031 hrs IST:
#CHIGER Stindl for Germany but a huge mistake by Chile. 1-0 pic.twitter.com/HtAToJY14Z

0021 hrs IST: HALF TIME! Its Germany 1-0 Chile. Lars Stindl put Germany ahead in the 20th minute after a Chile mistake led to Timo Werner drawing Claudio Bravo out of goal. Chile have made quite a few mistakes since then and Bravo has had come to their rescue quite a few times. That is exactly what he must be reminding his defenders as they get into a huddle in the middle of the pitch before walking off at half time. Chile have dominated possession and have had a plethora of chances but they have failed to take them.
0015 hrs IST: Chile almost gift another goal to Germany. The ball is passed almost directly to Draxler by Jara and he storms to the center of the box, he decides not to go for goal and passes it to Stindl whose shot is saved brilliantly by Claudi Bravo. The Chilean goalkeeper has saved his side some blushes so far in the match
0008 hrs IST: Chile still dominate possession but they are unable to make a mark in the final third. Germany on, the other hand, are looking as sharp as any side can be whenever they break. Hector passes it forward to find Werner brilliantly down the left side of the box, he puts it in to Draxler who takes the shot from just outside the box, it whistles past the bottom left

0004 hrs IST:
2352 hrs IST: GOAL! Lars Stindl puts the ball into an empty net after Timo Werner draws out Claudio Bravo. That is the definition of ‘Scoring against the run of play.’ Werner steals the ball from Marcelo Diaz in what was a rare mistake from any Chilean on the field. It was then only Bravo between him and goal and he passes it to Stindl to his right.  Stindl almost passes it into the empty net. Chile have had a plethora of chances while Germany seemed to need just one
2349 hrs IST: Some gritty play between Sanchez and Beusajour later finds Vidal who then leaves it for Vargas but he is forced to put it back into midfield.
2346 hrs IST: Stindl charges forward through the right wing and puts a ball into the box with four Germany players waiting, Aranguiz heads it out. Mustafi gets a header on the resulting corner and it is wide. First real attack that from Germany
2344 hrs IST: Vargas steals the ball in the right side and goes for goal from almost 40 yards out. Ter Stegen has to dive to his right to make the save. Chile have been on fire so far
2336 hrs IST: Chile have jumped on Germany’s throats right from the start. Eduardo Vargas was put in by Vidal but he was offside. Vidal then put Aranguiz but Rudiger put in a vital sliding tackle. Aranguiz managed to put in a shot though and it was saved by Ter Stegen. Chile have managed to get off to good starts so far and today is no different.
2322 hrs IST: Team News:
Germany:
There’s just 1 change to Joachim #Löw‘s line-up for the #ConfedCup final, with @MustafiOfficial replacing #Henrichs 🇨🇱🇩🇪 #CHIGER pic.twitter.com/FpHFBta5sZ

Chile:
¡Formación de #LaRoja para la gran final de la #ConfedCup!#VamosChile 🇨🇱⚽️pic.twitter.com/90T7drg8tp
— Selección Chilena (@LaRoja) 2 July 2017
2315 hrs IST: Jorge Sampaoli started it and Juan Antonio Pizzi has continued it. From being one of the more obscure sides in South America, Chile have emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the past five years. It is telling that this is the first time ever that Chile are playing in the Confederations Cup and they have stormed to the final.
Germany, on the other hand, have been a force in the sport for as long as it has existed and Joachim Loew has made them a well-oiled machine. The fact that they have reached the final of the tournament despite resting most of their key players shows the depth and is a testament to football system in the country.
