‘THE ONLY SIGNING WE NEEDED’ TOTTENHAM FANS REACT AS DEFENDER SIGNS ON THE DOTTED LINE AND POSES WITH POCHETTINO

Following Kyle Walker’s big money move to Manchester City, Tottenham have decided to act quick and have tied down their 26-year-old right-back Kieran Trippier. The England international, who moved to Tottenham from Burnley back in June 2015, has penned down a new five-year contract.

“I’m delighted with the new deal, it’s a great achievement for myself. I’m delighted to get it signed. I learned a lot in the Europa League and Champions League, playing with the players I have here and the manager also,” Trippier was quoted by the Independent.
“It’s been a great experience and a learning experience. I’ve progressed a lot and I thank my team-mates and manager for that.”
The 26-year-old mostly played as a second fiddle to Kyle Walker, but now with the Englishman gone, the former Burnley man will be expected to be given the first team nod next season. In his limited Premier League appearances, however, Trippier managed the same number of assists Walker had, after playing 33 games.
Most assists by defenders in the Premier League in 2016/17:

K.Trippier (5 in 566 mins)
K.Walker (5 in 2,704 mins)
A.Smith (5 in 3,099 mins) https://twitter.com/SquawkaNews/status/887281322959544321 …

Trippier’s fantastic form saw him get picked ahead of Walker in last season’s FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea and he was also called up for Tottenham’s final match against Arsenal at White Hart Lane. All this eventually earned him a palce in Gareth Southgate’s England squad and he then made his first senior international start in a friendly against France.
“At the back end of last season I was really enjoying it, I didn’t want it to end really because I was getting a lot of game time,” Trippier added.
“When I first came the manager demands a lot in training and on the field. He’s helped me a lot with my defensive and attacking work. As an all-round player I think I’ve changed since I’ve been here.”
Having said that, Tottenham fans have shown extreme excitement and this is how they reacted on Twitter. Read on!

PARLIAMENT MONSOON SESSION LIVE UPDATES: RAJYA SABHA TO DISCUSS ATTACKS ON DALITS, LOK SABHA TO TAKE UP AGRARIAN CRISIS

Parliament monsoon session live updates: The Opposition has identified six issues to target the government with — lynchings, the standoff with China, farmer suicides, terror attack on Amarnath yatris, use of CBI and ED to “target” Opposition leaders and the effects of GST and demonetisation.

The Rajya Sabha on Wednesday will discuss the recent lynchings and attacks on Dalits, a day after BSP chief Mayawati resigned in protest against deputy chairman P J Kurien for asking her to cut short her speech on atrocities against Dalits. However, her three-page resignation letter will not be accepted as she did not follow House procedure. With her term coming to an end next April, the BSP chief is unlikely to get reelected to the Rajya Sabha as her party doesn’t have the required numbers to back her nomination.
Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha will discuss the agrarian crisis, which is the first among the six issues to be raised in the Lower House. ·         The right back was put through his paces with his new team-mates in the US
·         Manchester City will kick off their stateside tour against Manchester United
·         Walker will take part in his first Manchester derby in Texas on Friday

Manchester City new-boy Kyle Walker has linked up with his team-mates for the first time as they gear up for the International Champions Cup clash against Manchester United.
The right back was put through his paces by new boss Pep Guardiola after completing his £54million switch from Tottenham last week.
And it will be no easy baptism for City's new recruit, with a Manchester derby looming just around the corner.

Although it will not take place at the Etihad Stadium or even Old Trafford, City and United will face off in a stateside derby in Texas on Friday.
Also present at training was hitman Sergio Aguero, who appeared fully focused on preparing for another Premier League season with City.
Walker's fellow England internationals Raheem Sterling and John Stones, who both also joined City for huge transfer fees, also put in the hard yards and are set to line up alongside their compatriot on the tour.

And Guardiola's men oozed calm and focus as they look to fully kick-off their pre-season tour with their first game against the old foe.
United are coming off two wins on their stateside tour and City will be hoping to stop them in their tracks in Texas.
The games will not get easier as their tour continues, however. City will face Real Madrid next Thursday before taking on Walker's former club Tottenham on Saturday.
